Before the vibrant hues of autumn began to unfold, I took some time to bond with my four-legged rescue friends. Bowser, a delightful canine at Second Chance Animal Rescue in Morninville, has captured my heart during my visits. At approximately 5 years old, Bowser radiates warmth and friendliness. While he may feel a little uncertain around small children; a common sentiment among many, his calm nature is truly remarkable. He strolls with grace on a leash, taking the time to explore every new scent and sight that comes his way. Though he can be selective with his canine companions, this behavior is typical in dogs. After 2.5 years of volunteering at the shelter, I can confidently say that Bowser stands out as one of the gentlest and most loving souls I’ve ever met; I am certain he would be a wonderful addition to any family.
If you are in search of a loyal companion, I encourage you to consider adopting a black dog or an older dog. These wonderful animals often remain overlooked and tend to take longer to find their forever homes.
You can learn more about Bowser as well as many other fabulous dogs on the SCARS website. If you happen to come across this post and can't find him on the website, then he was lucky enough to find his forever home. Maybe this post or these photographs helped him find his place.
SCARS dogs are located in Morninville, Athabasca, and in foster homes all around the greater Edmonton area.
** Bowser, like most dogs I photograph, was on leash for his session. The leash was retouched out. **
