Taking care of your pets

A post that is totally unrelated to pet photography but is a shout out to a pet related business that I personally use and highly recommend.

Over the last year I have been watching my senior dog, Molly, slow down and start showing signs of her age.  She is about 14.5 to 15 years old now.  That is the best guess from my vet.  We assessed that she was about 2 years old when we adopted her in 2010.  Since her adoption I have made it my mission to give her the best life she could possible have.  We walk, hike, take vacations and she eats the best food out there. There is really nothing we wouldn't do for her. I think we have done a great job giving her the best life and most people wouldn't guess she is as old as she is.

When she started to slow down on hikes, we got her a backpack.  She took to it easily because she just want to be part of the adventure.  Same with the dog pram, sometimes she wants to come on walks with Charlie and it's there for her when she tires.  Keeping up with Charlie is a lot for her at her age and with her short legs. When she started showing more signs of slowing down like stiffness, I started looking into what I could do to help... which led me to K9 Muscle Works.

I came across Angie and K9 Muscleworks on Instagram.  This resulted in adding Tri-Acta, a joint supplement, to my dogs daily routine. I noticed immediate results.  But a supplement can only do so much.  I know this from my own person health practices so why would it be any different for my dog. I then decided to hire Angie to do body work on Molly.  I know seeing my massage therapist on a regular basis keep me moving so why not for Molly.

Molly has been receiving regular body work appointments since February.  We have seen far less stiff days.  Is she the best at sitting still for Angie, nope.  But she does pretty good for a little dog that is rather shy of strangers. I am impressed with how well she has taken to Angie.  My vet and I joke about being "boujee" dog people  and that is just fine.  LOL  I will continue to give Molly the best life I can.

If you have a senior dog, a dog recovering from injury or and active sporting dog, I highly recommend K9 Muscleworks.

Please excuse the image quality of the photos.  These are cell phone images.  Molly in our living room receiving a treatment from Angie and Molly hiking in Idaho.  The backpack is great when we are out on rough trails.  The Dog stroller is something we use on St Albert and Edmonton paved trails. I should snap a picture of her enjoying a stroll.
