Darkroom Equipment

I will entertain all reasonable offers.

The Time Has Come

I’ve decided it’s finally time to clean out my storage room and part with what’s left of my darkroom equipment. When I shut down my darkroom back in 2004, I sold off quite a bit, but I held on to one of my two enlargers. I thought I might hang on to film photography or maybe pick it up again someday.

I used to have a full darkroom where I could develop black and white film and print in both black and white and colour. Fast forward twenty years and the truth is, no matter how nostalgic I feel, I just don’t have the interest anymore.

I know there’s still a bit of a cult following for film and for making your own prints. So I’m hoping to find a buyer who’s into that. Ideally, someone here in Alberta, or better yet, local to the Edmonton area, who’s looking for a well-cared-for enlarger and gear.

Everything is in excellent condition, as you can see in the photos. The only thing with noticeable wear is the 35mm negative carrier. It’s missing the screws and has been like that since the day I got it. I’m the second owner of this system. Included are a power supply, timer, foot pedal, two lenses, three negative carriers, and grain focusers.

I do have an offer from someone in Ontario, and they helped me understand the value of what I’ve got. If it wasn’t for the distance, I probably would have dropped it off already. It’s a bit of a drive. I’m also not too excited about taking it apart and packing it for shipping. That’s why I’d really love to find someone in Edmonton or somewhere else in Alberta who will put it to good use.

The enlarger is a Saunders/ LPL Super Dichroic 4500 II You can find specs here. As well as other places online. Not pictured... I also have the wall mounting brackets.

$750 OBO - Still available as of Jan 2026.

Erin Day - Hello! I hope this message finds you well. I am inquiring about your darkroom equipment and wondering if it is still available? I am located at Consort Alberta. It's a bit of a drive (we are about 3 hours from St Albert), but I could probably meet you part way? Have a great day! Erin
