I had the pleasure of photographing beautiful Ruby and her mom on more than one occasion. Sadly, this spring would be the last time.

Ruby developed bone cancer, something I am very familiar with. Over the years, I have had many clients face cancer and other serious illnesses with their pets. This spring, it affected me personally as well when I said goodbye to my own Charlie.

When these things happen, they are often unexpected and can progress very quickly. If you find yourself in this situation, I will always do my best to get your session into my schedule as quickly as possible, while your pet is still feeling well enough to take part. While they still have that spark that makes them who they are.

Some people call it an end of life session. Others call it a Rainbow Bridge session. I simply call it a session.

It doesn't matter what the reason is for the session. I treat every session with the same care and intention. My goal is to get as much out of our time together as I can, while keeping your pet comfortable, happy and relaxed.

Puppies, adults, seniors. It doesn't matter.

I want to capture their personality. Their little details. The things that make them uniquely them. And, most importantly, the bond you share.

My goal is to get those memories onto my camera because you never know when circumstances might change.

Maybe your finances change down the road and another session isn't something you can afford. Maybe an illness comes along. Maybe life simply takes an unexpected turn.

We can't always predict what is coming.

That is why I try to make every session count.

Whether it is your pet's first session, their last session, or their fifth session with me, I want you to walk away with photographs that tell the story of who they are and what they mean to you.

Because sometimes, those photographs become so much more important than you ever imagined they would be.
